I believe in the power of stories. Whether it’s the journey we experience on screen, or the journey of getting the film there.

Hidden in the pages of a book or projected onto the big screen, I’ve always admired the power that stories have. They can make us feel welcomed with shared experiences, challenge our perspectives, or even just give us a bit of much-needed escapism from our daily lives. However, no matter how great a story is, it can’t connect with people’s hearts unless there’s an effective introduction.

As a PR Campaign Executive for Fetch Publicity, my mission is to be the torch-bearer for movies. I nurture their flames, ensuring that they burn bright as I hold them high on their journey to the press, and then to audiences. With over a decade of experience, I have managed press office campaigns for film releases across theatrical, home video, and digital platforms with highlights including the Academy Award™-winning GODZILLA MINUS ONE, the pop culture juggernaut ONE PIECE Film Red, the influential classic AKIRA, the boutique streaming service Arrow Video Channel, and more.

My specialities include: Japanese anime and manga, premium home video, and cult/genre films.

Managing a PR campaign means developing long-lasting relationships with the media, ranging from the national press, to content creators, and grassroots enthusiasts. In an increasingly challenging landscape, nurturing these connections has resulted in incredible coverage such as multi-page features in Sight & Sound magazine, the masthead of The Guardian (1st Nov. 2022), and content by prominent creatures such as Abroad in Japan (3M Youtube subscribers).

I also work with the talent who make these stories happen, organising director press junkets, arranging interviews, and supporting events such as premieres.

Fetch Publicity clients who I have worked with include:

The logo for All The Anime, featuring a stylized red and white eye within a square, and the text 'ALL THE ANIME' in bold red letters.
Funimation logo with a smiling face and the company name on a purple background.
Warner Bros logo with warning sign overlay at the bottom
Logo for Trinity Cine Asia, featuring the word 'TRINITY' in bold black letters, with a stylized gold and brown globe and film strip icon between the words 'CINE' and 'ASIA'.

SOCIAL MEDIA

I don't need to introduce you to social media - it's a big part of our lives, and how we reach people.

Guillermo del Toro once retweeted a lame joke that Shudder made about Mothra. That may not sound impressive at first glance, but think about how many of his 2.4M followers saw that tweet - and the brand that posted it. I didn't reach out and arrange it with his team, it just happened organically - and that's the real key to social media: being fun and authentic. People don't like brands being overly corporate or too try-hard - but they like a personality.

I have created social media campaigns and assets for individual release campaigns, as well as longer-term management of brand social media channels, with clients including Anime Limited, Shudder, and Funimation (now known as Crunchyroll).

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I managed the social media channels for "Screen Anime", a temporary streaming service that provided a rotating library of anime films. This included spearheading the #ScreenAnimeParty initiative - weekly Twitter watch-a-longs that created a connected community during a time where people were kept apart due to lockdowns.

CONSULTANCY

There are some things that only a fan would know. What series are people telling their friends to watch? What excites them about a home video release? Or, what film might they love if it's given a bit of extra love?

Recognised as a specialist in Japanese anime and manga, I have helped consult a major home entertainment distributor following their acquisition of a leading anime brand and catalogue.
